Discover Leiden from the water
Sailing with friends and family and Van der Valk Hotel Leiden as a start/end point. Van der Valk Hotel Leiden is beautifully situated on the Oude Rijn, directly on the water, with an open waterway connection to the city centre.
Boat trip or cruise
During the sailing season it is possible to book a boat trip from our jetty. The historic city center of Leiden can be viewed well from the water. You can board straight from the terrace at Hotel Leiden and take a boat trip with your group before or after your lunch/dinner. We work together with various Leiden shipping companies and are happy to make a tailor-made offer that meets your needs.
Water taxi
The Leidse Rederij water taxi will pick you up at our hotel and take you to the center of Leiden (book in advance). After a day in Leiden, the boat will bring you back to our hotel. In case of bad weather we will offer an alternative in consultation. The water taxi operates from May to September. For the exact dates, please contact our reception on 071 - 5731 731.
"Venice of the West"
In the summer there is a shuttle service from our jetty and you can sail to Leiden Center where you can enjoy the canals and small bridges. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays there is also a shuttle service to Katwijk aan Zee. Visit the beach or the summer market on Tuesdays.
